"Review The body Parts"
Teacher Instructional Strategies:
Show the students through pictures in MS Power Point and videos the daily things they do in Spanish to connect with their primary language English
Instructions:
Students must write the body parts in each line corresponding.
Inter-active:
Students are pairs, then ask back and for each part of the body until they are familiarized with each one.
Students are welcome to help their pears for each part missing in their drawing.
Lesson/Resource/Materials:
Teacher will provide with the copy with the body draw to write the body parts.
Teacher will show visual parts of the body through a MS Power Point.
See Below the picture of the body parts the students must fill in out in the form provided by the teacher.

Project: Folleto Turístico - Project: Create a tourist brochure
Ejemplo de un Folleto Turístico
Instructions:
Students
will create a travel brochure for a Spanish-speaking city or region of the
world. You may have students compile information about the history and
geography of the area, places to visit, things to do, places to stay, and
restaurants. Students will design and print their brochures to share with the
class.
REMEMBER: THIS IS A SPANISH CLASS PERHAPS ALL THE
INFORMATION IN THE BROCHURE
MUST BE IN SPANISH.
Suggested
sequence:
1. Ask
students to write their initial ideas of what the brochure might look like and
what information they would like to include.
2. Students
conduct an Internet research to select a region and gather information on activities,
hotels, and restaurants.
Note: if you
don’t have an iPad, you can use your cellphone. Otherwise you can use the class
textbook or teacher will provide with some magazines.
3. Students
document all Web sites or library sources they used to gather the information.
4. Students
design the brochure and begin writing descriptions of the city or region they
chose.
5. Have
students present their projects to the class and display the brochures in the
classroom.

Reading Strategies and Skills
Strategy: It says… I say
Instructions:
Find a sports news about your favorite team (any sports) or if you don’t have any one, just pic a sports news.
Read and translate into Spanish. In the block “it says” you will copy a short paragraph about it in Spanish, then create a questions related to your written in Spanish, then your thoughts in Spanish and a closer inference… and so…
Per example:
It Says: Cowboys ganó el pasado domingo al equipo de Louisiana, fué un partido exitante.
(This past Sunday the Cowboys beat Louisiana, they win and it was a very exiting game.)
Question: ¿Ganaron o perdieron los Cowboys en el partido del domingo?
(Did Cowboys win or lost the game on Sunday?)
I Say: Me parece que hicieron un exitozo trabajo ya que pudieron ganar esta vez.
(I think they did a great work because they win this time.)
And so: Finalmente ganaron por un margen de 35 a 15.
(Finally they win by 35 to 15)

Activity Objective: this information is only to help the students to develop their ability to learn and practice Spanish in an interactive manner.
The purpose: Expand cultural awareness and develop global knowledge.
Complete the booklet "Juntos en Puerto Rico".
You must do the following activities:
1. Translate paragraph.
2. From page 2 and 3, select a paragraph and prepare a speech.
3. Color your booklet, specially page 4.
4. Answer questions in page 5, 7, 8, and 9.
Follow the teacher instructions in class for this activity. You must help to do your activities with these visuals provided by your teacher and MS Power Point and by using your iPad translations application as well as with traditional paper dictionary.

Briefing about this project:
Using your iPad, search in the International House link a
news web site link from the sources listed as per example, CNN in Spanish web
site, select a news with your team members, write a brief and present to the
class, also include a list of Spanish words you can understand while listening
the Spanish selected news by your team members.
Instructions:
1.
15 minutes to find and listen your news link in
your iPad.
2.
10 minutes to write a brief (team work) in
English, then write a list of words in Spanish that you know and understand
from your news, in a vocabulary fashion style.
3.
5 minutes to present to the class.
4.
You must turn in your group writing brief with
the vocabulary and your team members.
5.
The teacher will provide you with the form to
write your brief and vocabulary (one for each group).
Benefits of this project:
This exercise will help you to search Spanish links, learn
how to find relevant information with your iPad, learn about international news
in Spanish target language, be familiarized to use you iPad for educational
purpose, control and maximized your time while working in the internet, team
work, learn to discriminate about important versus not important information in
the WWW, writing practice and speech practice supporting your STAAR exam.
After selecting your team members:
You have 15 minutes to listen the news picked by your group,
and write in English what you group understand about it. You will write a short
brief and one of your which will be the team leader will talk about it in front
of the class, you have to mention what source you use, per example if you use
CNN in Spanish, etc. And said in Spanish all the words you can recognized while
listening the Spanish news, these words must be listed in the document you will
turn in to your teacher for grade.
You can choose from this list and to open the hyperlink you

then select from the list your “news” link with the help of your group members.
